There were few people Lily could rely on to be where they were supposed to be. Her friend Amy was supposed to be with her boyfriend, who was supposed to be on the quidditch field. Lexi was supposed to be in the closet on the third floor because she liked to nap and no one but Lily looked for her there. Todd was supposed to be in the bathroom, heavens knew why. And Remus was supposed to be in the library. This wasn't a stereotype, it was a fact. If this fact was ever proven untrue, well, Lily would be pissed off, and Remus would never willingly piss Lily off, not that she knew of anyways. So, today, she needed Remus's help, and she knew exactly where to find him. Most days, the Remus helped consisted of homework. Today, however, she just needed to vent to someone who would understand a need for secrecy. Lily didn't know anyone who could keep a secret quite like Remus could, and she really hadn't even figured out what secret she as trying to uncover. So, she decided to go to him and talk to him, swear him to secrecy, and feel better.
Stepping into the library, Lily took a moment to inhale. The fresh sent of old books wafted into her nose and she felt deep relaxation. She loved books a bit too much. It should be a crime, but it was true. The smell was wonderful on it's own, the book was just the gravy on the entire dish. She let her hand slide against a few old parchments and books as she walked past, scanning the groups of people. They all seemed to be crowded over books, but none of the were Remus. Then she saw him. She smiled, triumphant. "REMUS!" It was a bit loud, but she was just so excited, as she hit his shoulder, however, it was not him. She had, however, scared the wits out of some very tall fourth year. She sighed. What was the use? If she found Remus she would be very vexed with him. Didn't he know when Lily really needed to see him. She bit her lip, scanning a few more tables. Where would he be? Ah! She knew. There was as special nook she had stolen from him a time or to. It was quite, and he only used it when he really didn't want to talk to anyone. However, if he had thought of such a thing he should not have let her find out where the bloody place was.
Lily headed right over, feeling a bit triumphant in her finding of the one and only Remus Lupin. She crossed her arms, and walked over. This time, she lowered her voice, taking into consideration this was a library. "Remus. I have been looking all over the library for you. I have news...weird news. The kind of news you will find funny and all my other friends would gossip about. However, it isn't the kind of thing I want to get around, so I came to the one and only secret keeper of our time. So, are you willing to hear it?" She motioned for him to allow her to sit down. She might be willing to interrupt him while he was trying to study, but if he told her he was busy she would respect him. She wouldn't be happy, but she would respect it.

frowning, remus wrinkled his nose at the vile book. what the heck had he taken amelia’s advice and was reading this romance novel. seriously, who reads this crap. the book was called Promise at Midnight by Lilian Peake. it was a sick romance novel about two people who couldn’t have each other and yet they ended up together. remus sighed heavily as he turned another page. it was only on chapter ten with twenty more chapters to go; and he could already guess what was going to happen. the library was already buzzing with life, which was ad normal. he could always go here for peace and quiet; but today was kind of loud. he made a face while scanning the passage with his baby blue eyes, great now he had to read about them having sex. he titled his head back and rubbed the hat on his head. placing the book on his side, he let out a yawn and leaned back rubbing his stomach. a bunch of first year girls giggled as they passed him; they pointed and whispered to each other. remus looked down and followed to where they were pointing at. the stupid novel..he closed his eyes and pretended to not know what they were talking about. he knew that novel would be the death of him, but then again alot of things were. he sighed yet again and pulled out his charms homework, an essay that was half-way written. he stared at it for awhile and then back at the book. eh, the book was better then this homework essay any day.
going back into his bag, he tried to find others things that might entertain, anything but homework or that dang book. "REMUS!" at the sound of his name, remus snapped his head up and looked around. the voice sounded very familiar, he couldn’t place his foot on it but it did sound alot like lily. he shrugged it off thinking it was all in his head and went back to folding paper cranes. his knew hidden talent. suddenly, a shadow was cast over him and he looked over his shoulder to see the face of one of his best friends. lily evans. she looked kind of you know pissed..he hoped he hadn’t done anything. quickly, he ran his mind off all the things he had done and said to lily in the past 24 hours. nope, he couldn’t think of anything that would make her angry with him. "Remus. I have been looking all over the library for you. I have news...weird news. The kind of news you will find funny and all my other friends would gossip about. However, it isn't the kind of thing I want to get around, so I came to the one and only secret keeper of our time. So, are you willing to hear it?" remus shot lily an small smile, she had his total attention now. “hello to you too.” he said with a small laugh. and went on to saying, “what you finally accepted james proposal to marriage?”. his eyes glinted with amusement.

She took pleasure in the fact that Remus was just prepared to listen. Not enough boys did that, and if Lily had ever had romantic feelings for any marauder boys, she was sure it would be Remus. However, she could never have that with her favorite Loopy. That would ruin her entire image of the guy who was only there to save her when she really needed help in all areas of life. She plopped down next to him, making sure no one was around. Why was the library so packed today? Usually, it was just her and Remus, maybe a few others. Lily frequented the library a lot, and it never had this many people lining the walls. Sighing, she took comfort that no one was within ear shot of her. Turning to Remus, she got down to business.
She rolled her eyes as he spoke, "Hello to you too...what you finally accepted james proposal to marriage?” She was being a bit rude, but every girl had her days. She smiled a bit, knowing he didn't take it too personally.
"Did I forget the hello part? Oops. Hello Remus, I hope that romance novel is good. I did not accept his proposal to marriage...nor will I ever, but I did get lip raped by him two days ago, much to my dismay. I was just sitting there, famished, and suddenly he kissed me! It was the most vile thing on this planet." She shuttered a bit at the mere memory of his lips against hers. She also shuttered because her lips were suddenly a bit warm. She reassured herself it was just out of anger, she was pretty angry about the entire thing happening. Then she did a double take as she looked down. "You are reading a romance novel!" She said through bits of laughter. She shoved her hand in front of her mouth as laughter fell out of her mouth. She was trying to keep quiet, but it was hard. "And are you hoping they stay together forever Remus? Is it love at first sight or one of the ones where they have known one another forever? Oh, I know, where the billionaire makes the secretary an offer of business marriage! Oh, Remus, I believe you have just made my week!" she took a breath of air as more laughter escaped, unbelieving of what she saw. "I hope Black doesn't catch you with that. He might be your friend, but I can't see him as being nice about it!" For a moment, her news was lost as she looked down at the novel. It was hard to stay on track when one of you guy friends was reading a book that made sex sound like perfect passion. Any guy would be a bit intimidated by that, and she found great enjoyment in the fact.

It was the most vile thing on this planet." remus glanced up from folding his crane and narrowed his eyes. james had kissed her? normally, it would have amused him but know since he knew lily it kind of bothered him. lily was a dear friend to him and it must have been uncomfortable for her. he gave her a look of concern, “i’m sorry he did that. he is such a prat sometimes.” he said with a small sigh. he wordless set down the crane and bite his lip. he really didn’t know what to say, he knew how much james liked her but then again he knew how much lily despised james. eh, love is just worthless he thought to himself as he laid down and put his hands below his head. he glanced at the row of books to his left and wondered if any new ones had come in.
"You are reading a romance novel!" he winced and shot back up. “N-no...”he said weakly but knew it was worthless. he had been defeated. he shot her a look as she cracked up laughing at him. “okay seriously, it’s not that funny.” he said as he raised an eyebrow while crossing his arms. since when where there a law that guys couldn’t read romance novels. it’s not like they were for girls only. "And are you hoping they stay together forever Remus? Is it love at first sight or one of the ones where they have known one another forever? Oh, I know, where the billionaire makes the secretary an offer of business marriage! Oh, Remus, I believe you have just made my week!" he rolled his eyes and glared at the dang book, which probably ruined his mind and life. “look amelia bones gave it to me and i promised to read it. it’s her supposedly favorite book.” he rubbed his head a nervous habit and looked down. "I hope Black doesn't catch you with that. He might be your friend, but I can't see him as being nice about it!" he snorted at the thought of his mates finding out about the romance and said “ yeah, they would get on me but they would get over it...maybe. anyways! we were talking about that bloke kissing you, right? well don’t worry about it, james has kissed all of us at some point..not a pretty picture.” moony laughed at the memory of drunken james and he crazy actions.

Remus almost looked at her like he was truly bothered, which was sort of new for him. Sure, she loved him cause he was the least like the Marauders, but he loved his friends. The fact that he was bothered was sort of cute. It was why she loved him, Remus was such a good guy, he really needed some girl to sweep him off his feet. I'm sorry about that. He can be such a prat.
Patting his hand, she gave a small shrug. "Don't worry Remus, I slapped him right before that."
"N-no." It was way too late for him to even fake not reading it. She saw it. She knew. Her laughter was proof, and even though he was trying to cover over it and she wanted to be sensitive, she knew she was truly trying not to laugh, but no matter what, it was just coming out. There was no stopping it, there was no hiding it. "Okay seriously, it's not that funny...Look, Amelia Bones gave it to me and I promised I'd read it. It's her supposedly favorite book."
She shook her head, calming herself down a bit. "Loopy, I could lie to you and say it isn't at all funny, but I would most likely be lying. Even if you got it from a girl, that isn't your best line of defense. Although I guess if you are going after Amelia Bones, I understand. Then, you are just trying to find something in common I guess? It doesn't make it any less funny, but it helps in the littlest bit." She gave him a playful smile, looking around just to make sure that no one was making fun of him because they heard her. She might be alright with making fun of him personally, but she couldn't help but be a bit protective over him.

A picture formed in her head of James kissing all the Marauders throughout a plot line in her head. "Ew! Gross! You mean I pretty much kissed James, Sirius, and Peter all in one go!! You know any charms to kill all the bacteria in a mouth. I know one to freshen, but not one to get rid of it, tell me there is one! Why did you kiss James/ Why on earth would anyone kiss him, especially you boys. You guys are straight right? Or is that what your little nicknames are for? Something gross! I didn't know guys did that kind of stuff, blegh!" She couldn't help it. It was one of the most disgusting things she had ever thought of. Why was it so gross? Well, guys might have images of girls making out dancing in their head, but Lily didn't really have those anywhere near her, boys or girls. She was just disgusted by the entire thought.
